Errands and
more errands spending money right and left.
We went into town again today.
First to drop off Kim’s car for service.
The place we have it done is in the general direction of the leather supply store. There were a couple things I had been
needing. As always happens I buy more
than I had intended. One of the things
is some embossed leather.
It has a
crocodile look to it. Had been wanting
to try it for a while for various projects, but what they had was much too
stiff. This has a more supple feel and will work well
with what I have in mind.
Harbor Freight is in the same parking lot as the leather store.
Picked up a punch and die set for a new craft we plan to try. More on that once we get farther along with
it. Then a run to the bank and the
grocers. We still needed to pick up her
car, but that was done on the way to the church house that evening.
Kim has been
trying to figure out what has gone wrong over at the resort with her business
there. If you will remember, she was
told she could only bring crafts for the guests to do and not sell any of her
wares which included much of my leather work.
It really hit us hard in the pocket book. She had left a message to speak with the person
that had been handling her to figure out what the issues were and how to get
them worked out. She only responded that
she will 'get with her.' Kim finally wrote
an email with all her concerns since she couldn’t get a face to face or even a
return phone call. It wasn’t looking
good. While out running errands she got
a phone call. She was very quiet for the
longest time. I thought, ‘not good.’ Then the tone changed and she sounded
pleased. As it turns out, the manager
says there had been a major misunderstanding with what she intended and her
instructions to the person dealing with Kim got misunderstood. She had never intended to prevent her from
selling her wares and they want her back to her regular schedule when there are
more guests. Also during a 3 week period
in June/July they are mostly booked solid and they want her to come almost
every day. Kim was so relieved as was
I. I see how hard she works at this and
tries hard to please. She is great at
customer service and makes a lot of folks happy that deal with her. So it had been very puzzling to us with that
recent mix up. She thought she had made
someone mad but no one was telling her.
One of the things she was told was that she had only been there selling
and not offering crafts. That is
probably where the ‘no selling’ idea/instructions came from.
But that has never happened. She
has ALWAYS offered crafts, it's what gets her in the door. She can only
guess that she was closing up and had put away the crafts and all that was left
was the sale items. So it looked like
that is all she had done.
Miscommunications and misunderstandings.
Cost her a lot of money and heartache, but it’s all good now. She will back to really long hard Saturday work, but the payoff will be much better.
Happy
Trails.

That's good news. And bureaucracy (even one level), can screw up perfectly good deals... sigh
